William Bergman

February 24, 1956 — August 30, 2013

Our loving husband, daddy, grandpa, brother, son, and friend, William "Bill" Francis Bergman, age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 30, 2013 at his home in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Bill was born on February 24, 1956 to Barnabus P. and Adella Decker Bergman in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of 9 children.

Bill became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He then moved to Utah where he married Margaret "Margie" Helen Wells on September 14, 1979 and they were later sealed in the Provo Utah Temple on July 22, 2009. Together they raised four children in Spanish Fork, Utah; Rhonda (Lyle) Hayes, Lincoln, Nebraska; Becky (Bryant) Smith, Spanish Fork, Utah; Daniel (Grace), England; Jenny (Jeremy) Prestwich, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Throughout his life, he had a love of learning and was continually taking different classes to further his education. After graduating from a Trade School in Oklahoma as a machinist, he earned his diploma from Spanish Fork High School, and later took classes at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Bill's working career was spent as a machinist, a CNC Programmer, and was very knowledgeable in his field. He was a valued employee at US Synthetic for 16 years.

Spending time with his family was his favorite thing to do. He loved the outdoors specifically gardening, fishing, golfing, running, camping, hunting, shooting, and riding his motorcycle. He was a jack of all trades, and could fix most anything.

Bill was a silent giant, and will be remembered for his sense of humor, and good example to all those who knew him. He was full of service, wanting nothing in return other than passing on that service to someone else, and would help anyone in need. His motto was, "If you have a kindness shown - pass it on, pass it on. It wasn't meant for you alone - pass it on, pass it on." He was always looking out for the welfare of others just to see them smile. Bill was loved by everyone who knew him.

Bill was preceded in death by his father Barney, step mother Bernice, step father John, and sister's Barbara and Lisa

He is survived by his mother Adella and six siblings: Carol, Tom (Kathy), Jim (Regenia), Richard (Terri), Evelyn, and Rita Kay.

He is also survived by his wife, 4 children, their spouses, and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6 at 11:00 am at the East Meadows Meetinghouse located at 1552 East 750 South, Spanish Fork. A viewing will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and on Friday, September 6, from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to services in the same church. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

Margie, I just talked to you and Bill at the grocery store not long ago and Bill seemed to be doing ok. He mentioned that he had some health issues but this news is such a shock. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
