Vernon Elton Madewell, 66, passed away due to complications of diabetes Monday, February 12, 2018 in Provo, Utah. He was born the 7th child of Benjamin Franklin and Ruth Maxey Madewell July 5, 1951 in Madera, California.
Vernon married Beverly Burg in 1971, they had 2 children who they raised in California until 1979 when they moved to Moapa, Nevada. In 2013 Vernon and Beverly moved to Utah to be closer to their children.
Vernon worked various jobs in his lifetime, always outside, including tire repair, dairy maintenance, home maintenance, and property maintenance. He enjoyed being outdoors; fishing, hunting and horseback riding were his favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed watching old western movies.
Vernon is survived by his wife Beverly, son Daniel Madewell(Vickie), of Springville, UT, daughter Jean Miner (Kevin), of Mapleton, UT, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters. He is also survived by brothers Don (Debbie) of Idaho, Joe (Janie) of Colorado, Dale of California, Calvin (Anita) of California, and Bennie (Patty) of California. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Roy, and sister Paulette.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Legacy Funerals in Spanish Fork, Utah. Followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. in the Mapleton Cemetery, Mapleton, Utah.
