Verla Jean Kinser (McDonald), age 64, passed away on May 1, 2017 at her home in Springville, UT.
Verla was born to Athel and Leila McDonald on April 17, 1953. She was the fourth child, but the first and only daughter. While attending Springville High School she met Bliss Kinser. Following graduation, they were married on March 26, 1970. Shortly thereafter, they welcomed their first child, Kevin Kinser, followed by Kathy Kinser (Reichert) in 1971 and their final daughter Krissy Kinser (Hamer) in 1979. Her marriage ended in 1987, but her friendship with Bliss did not.
One of her mother's wishes was to have a red headed grandchild. Shortly after Leila's passing in 1988, her wish came true. The family welcomed Skyler Wagstaff and he was as much of a red head as they came.
Verla made her living as a seamstress, but her passion was embroidery. When she was not working, she could be found at home working on various craft projects including quilts, macrame, candle making or anything to keep her busy. Her other passion was gardening and growing plants. Friends brought her plants that needed nursing back to health. She was always able to bring them back, greener and bigger than before.
Verla is survived by her children Kevin, Krissy and Skyler, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy.
