It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Edyth Humpherys, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on December 1, 2024, in Woodland Hills, Utah, at the age of 82. Born on July 3, 1942, in Fort Lewis, Washington, she was the daughter of Sulo and Margaret Paaso.
Susan married her devoted husband, Dee Humpherys, and together they raised five wonderful children: Erik (Ann), Cindy (Lynn), David (Amy), Kristen, and Steve (Victoria). Susan and her identical twin sister, Linda, shared a special bond throughout their lives, often having fun by switching identities. She was preceded in death by her cherished siblings, Patricia Lemos, John Milberry, and Linda Brighton.
Susan dedicated her life to her family, providing a warm and nurturing home as a homemaker. Her interests were many, from quilting and gardening to family history work, BYU sports, swimming, and enjoying the great outdoors through camping and hiking.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Susan served in various callings and missions, including the Dublin Ireland Mission, the Palmyra Temple Mission, and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Her devotion to her faith and community was evident in the countless hours she spent in service.
Susan will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and the sacrifices she made for their well-being. Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Dee, her five children, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory and the values she instilled in them.
Funeral services will be held on December 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodland Hills Chapel, located at 220 Woodland Hills Drive, Woodland Hills, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
