Ruth Evans

January 15, 1939 — June 9, 2015

Ruth Suarez Evans, 76 years old, from Mapleton Utah passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer in her home surrounded by family.



Born on January 15, 1939 in Colombia to Francisco Suarez and Ana Rosa Echeverri. She served in different capacities for the LDS Church including being a temple worker for many years. She spent countless hours making clothes, toys, blankets and many other projects, which she donated to the LDS Humanitarian Center. One of her joys in life was to prepare and cook delicious meals for all those who visited her home. She loved to travel around the world and take care of her plants. But her greatest joy was to serve and take care of her family.



Survivors include her husband Roger Evans; children from her first marriage to Manuel A Bayon: Gloria Lara, Ruth Hendriksen, Martha Garcia, Juan Manuel Bayon, James Bayon and Frank Bayon. Roger's children: Roy Evans, Sherrie Gear, Randall Evans, Sheila Lemon, Geanna Allsop, Mary Ledbetter and Troy Evans, their spouses and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the White Church, 31 W. Maple Street, Mapleton, UT. There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Springville Kolob Stake Center, 1230 South 400 East, Springville, UT and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Friday prior to the services at the White Church. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
