He took many jobs on the road and worked in Arizona, California and Utah. He spent many years at BMT in Orem Utah and Modern Welding in Florida. When he wasn't hunting you could find him making potato cannons, marble guns, sling shots or perfecting his spears, he was so talented. He enjoyed setting up targets in his backyard and shooting his bow or his marble gun. He was extremely creative and would always find a way to build exactly what he needed- he was a master tinkerer and loved creating things for his happy place. He loved playing his harmonica and guitar and jamming to his favorite tunes. He was most proud of his children and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren who are going to miss him immensely.
Russ married Laura Lazenby in 1984 and later divorced. He married Melinda Lollar in 2001 and lived in Clermont Florida until they moved to Texas in 2010 where they currently resided.
