Russell Carter

American Fork, Utah - Russell James Carter, age 61, passed away August 23, 2019 after a long fight with health issues. Jim was born in Provo, Utah, July 13,1958 to Ida Epsy Carter and Sterling Willis Carter.



Jim married Melody Morrison on January 5, 1982. They had four children, Linsey, Jennifer, Bryan, and Calyb. They later divorced. Jim later found a life partner, Verla Chappell. They've spent the last 18 year together.



Jim loved being in the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling the world around him when he was able. He liked to be in the company of good friends and good music. He spent as much time as he was able with his grandchildren. In his working years, Jim worked hard to provide for his family. Jim also loved to sew and create items. He was very creative.



Jim is survived by his life partner, Verla Chappell, of American Fork, Utah; daughter, Jennifer (Jesse) Braithwaite of Spanish Fork, Utah; sons, Timothy Bryan Carter of Beaver, Utah, Calyb (Erin) Tirrell of Kearns, Utah. His siblings, Sid Lawrence (Sandra) of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Linda Long of Payson, Utah; Phyllis (Dan Chilcott of West Haven, Utah; Christine Daywitt of Spanish Fork, Utah and Tim Carter of Price, Utah.



Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Ida Epsy Pace and Sterling Willis Carter, his daughter, Linsey Elaine Carter and brother-in-law Garry Daywitt.



The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Jim in his final moments. Your thoughts and actions are much appreciated.
