Rosezella Robertson

Rosezella Bigelow Robertson 92, of Mapleton Utah, died October 11, 2019 in Payson, Utah.

Rose was born in Wallsburg, Utah on March 12,1927 to Daniel Dewey and Susie Wall Bigelow. She married her sweetheart Raymond Dick Robertson on July 24,1948 in Evanston, Wyoming and later their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.



She met the love of her life in Wallsburg when Dad came from Fountain Green to Wallsburg looking for a sheepherder. The family always joked, Dad went looking for a sheepherder and found a wife. They had a long-distance courtship and soon married and moved to Spanish Fork, later moving to Payson, and retired in Mapleton.



Rose's joy was her family and her home. She was a loving wife and mother. She would cook all night and take hot meals to Eureka to feed the men that worked for Dad when they were shearing sheep. Mom was a very hard worker and she expected the same from her family. If she said clean it had to be clean! We often joked we could eat off her floor. Mom always said her children and grandchildren were her best friends. She bragged about each one's accomplishments and how proud she was of every one of them. We all enjoyed the fruits of her talents, housekeeping may have been her first love but she enjoyed quilting and making ceramics too. We cannot count the many quilts she has made over the years for each of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great or two. Everyone has a quilt or more from Grandma Rose. We cannot express what a beautiful quilter she was! She and her sister Virginia quilted for many years together. They were both excellent quilters and enjoyed the time they spent together quilting for their families, including making numerous quilts for their sister Leola and her family.



She was a true example of faith despite doctors telling her she would never have any children. None of us would be here today without her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe our faith and our ability to work hard is because of her example.



She was left heartbroken after her sweet Ronnie passed away four years ago. Life just seemed less for her, but she was not anxious to leave the rest of us either. A joyous reunion is going on in Heaven right now, with Dad and her precious son's and all of her family that went before her. We love you Mom, we will miss you more than we can put into words.



Rose is survived by her three daughters and husbands, Dixie & Wayne Nilsen, LaRee & Charles Higginson and Peggy & Daniel Howell. One brother Rex Bigelow, daughter-in-law's Hope Robertson and Debbie Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Dick Robertson, son's Bret Dick Robertson, Dee Ray Robertson, and Ronnie J. Robertson and grandson Kyle Labrum; parents Daniel Dewey Bigelow, & Susie Wall Bigelow, six brothers and four sisters, Boyd Bigelow, Veda Steele, Loren Bigelow, Harold Bigelow, Gale Bigelow, Neldon Bigelow, Max Bigelow, Leola Phillips, and Vonda Bigelow.



Many, many thanks to everyone at Symbii Home Health. Wendy who set up our Hospice team, our nurse Sam, our Aid Cory, and our Social Worker Cory. We appreciate the kindness that you have given to the whole family we will be forever grateful to you. Thank you to the Beehive Home in Payson for the loving care you have given our mother over the past few weeks. We sincerely appreciate each and every one of the kind and caring staff and the residents who befriended Mom. To both groups we love you all. Each one of you precious people have been such a blessing in mother's life and ours, you took us in and made us all feel like family!



Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 15, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mapleton 9th Ward Chapel, 31 West Maple Street, Mapleton, Utah. Friends may call Monday evening at the same location, from 6 to 8 p.m. or Tuesday 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Salem City Cemetery, Salem Utah.
