Rose Aleen Adams Dastrup, 85, passed away peacefully at her son's home in Mapleton, Utah on October 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family after suffering complications from a stroke.
Rose was born in Scipio, Utah on June 14, 1932, to Ray Adams and Alverta Bradfield (Adams) Jones. Rose grew up in Manti and attended Manti High School. She married Robert J Dastrup in 1949 and they made their first home in Salina, Utah and finally found their permanent residence in Salinas, California where she resided for over 65 years. She later divorced in 1980.
Rose spent most of her early years as a mother and wife. In her later years she was a caretaker to many people. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and served in many callings. Her favorite calling was being a Primary Teacher where she taught for over 35 years.
Rose is survived by her 3 beloved children: Robert John Dastrup of Orem, Utah, Russell (Char) Dastrup of Mapleton, Utah and Robin (Sean) Crawford of Gilbert, Arizona; 8 adored grandchildren and 9 cherished great-grandchildren with 2 on their way. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral at Mapleton 22nd Ward, 1068 S 1600 W Hwy 89, and Mapleton, Utah on Saturday, October 28th from 9:30 am - 10:30 am. Funeral Services will be held following the viewing at 11 am at the same place. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
