Renee Farrell - In Memoriam
Renee Young Farrell passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2016 in Nephi, UT after a short illness. Renee was born November 6th, 1929 in Mona, UT, the daughter of Jesten Dolphus Young and Joy Ora Sperry.
Renee was raised in Mona, UT graduating from Juab LDS Seminary and Juab High School before heading for the allure of the big city (Salt Lake). She was married to Joseph M. Farrell (deceased) from 1950 - 1974. Renee was also married to John Dale Bailey (deceased) from 1975 to 1985.
Her younger years took her to Denver, CO, Bellevue, IL, and Biloxi, MS then settling in Southern California for 20 years. She later lived in Tremonton, UT and Sandy, UT, before returning home to Mona, UT in 1982.
Trained as a beautician, Renee had a good eye for beauty and helped friends and neighbors with their hair. Besides cosmetology, she worked as a car hop, in electronics assembly, as a seamstress, in product fulfillment, and most recently at the Roberta's Cove Hotel in Nephi before retirement.
She loved to read about LDS church doctrine and history and was, somewhat surprisingly, a political news junkie. She loved her grandchildren dearly and would light up in their presence.
In her later years, Renee found great joy in serving in the House of the Lord and enjoyed a special communion with her Heavenly Father. Her service shone as a bright example to all those who knew her and inspired others to do likewise.
Renee is survived by her sons, Tim (Heidi) of Alpine, UT and Patrick of Mona, UT, grandchildren Joseph, Rebecca, Spencer & Matthew all of Alpine UT, sister Eleanor Young Bowman of Salt Lake City, UT and brother Douglas Young of Mona, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Young.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, June 4th, 2016, at the Mona Second Ward, 65 East 100 North, Mona, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the services at the church from 10-10:45am. Interment will be at the Mona City Cemetery.
