It is with sadness we announce the death of Reed Albert Newmeyer who passed away October 4, 2014, in Spanish Fork, Utah. Reed was the oldest son of Paul Albert and Marion Atwood Newmeyer, born March 20, 1934. Reed had three younger siblings, Carol, Jeddy, and Tracy. He was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Great Lakes Mission. He married LuWana Mott, June 22, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children, Lorie, Vincent, Shauna, and Lamar. They were later divorced. He married Shirlene Cook, June 6, 1985 in the Salt Lake city Temple. They served a mission together to Ireland where they microfilmed church records. They later served together as temple ordinance workers in the LDS Manti Temple.
He had a life long interest in electronics, and photography. He was a champion of the cause of Liberty. He loved learning, science, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. His life can be best described as preparing for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tracy. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirlene, his children Lorie Roberts, Vincent (Karen) Newmeyer, Shauna Chris, and Lamar (Stephany) Newmeyer, 14 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, sibling Carol (Jerry) Van Mondfrans and Jeddy Newmeyer. A grave side service will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Moroni City Cemetery. A funeral will be held later that day at 2 p.m. at the Moroni 1st Ward Building, 82 N Center Street, Moroni, Utah.
