Phillips Brooks Redden Jr, 77 of Salem, UT passed away on May 16, 2023 at Mountain View Hospital in Payson UT. Phil was born September 30, 1945 to Phillips and Ruth Redden in Lowell, MA. He had one sibling Carolyn "Cookie" Redden.
His father passed away when he was around 16 and Phil had to pause HS for a few decades to work to support his Mom and Sister in running the family business, a nursing home. He later married Miriam Redden where they had 2 miscarriages and one live birth, Jeffrey Redden. He started and ran for a few years his own ambulance service that he later sold.
His life featured a lot of community volunteerism throughout. In the 1970's and early 1980's he was a volunteer Police Photographer in Chelsea, MA. Also in the 1980's he was a volunteer firefighter in Townsend, MA. He retired after over 20 years as a Lynx Bus Driver with well over a million safe miles with 0 incidents. After that he volunteered and also worked part time with the Orange County Sheriff's Dept. When he moved to Utah, he did some volunteer work doing crime prevention with local police departments, and up until the end of his life, he was volunteering with Mountain View Hospital in the gift shop. His whole life was an example of always putting others first.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Redden and his wife Cindy. Phil has 2 grandchildren, Colt and Ryan.
He will be cremated and have a memorial service on June 10 at 25 West Apple Blossom Way, Salem Utah 84653 in the LDS Church a visitation will begin at 10am with a service to follow at 11am. His remains will then be taken at a later date to be placed in a family plot with his father, mother and sister in MA.
