Miriam Mitchell

September 12, 1925 — April 30, 2019

Miriam Bartholomew Mitchell, age 93 of Springville returned peacefully to her heavenly home on April 30, 2019. Miriam was born in Fayette, Utah on September 12, 1925 to Floyd Bartholomew and Pearl Larsen Bartholomew, the 8th of their 13 children.



When Miriam as 5 years old her family moved to Springville, where she made her permanent home. Growing up Miriam attended every elementary school in Springville at the time and graduated from Springville High School in May of 1943.



Miriam was 23 when she met the man that she would share 58 years of her life with, Albert "Mitch" Mitchell. They were married on January 15th, 1948 and welcomed 2 beautiful children into their home, Jack and his younger sister Sandra "Susan".



Miriam was an active member of her community and her faith. Miriam, like her own mother, served others each and every day. She held many church callings throughout the years which she gladly fulfilled. She was talented in many ways, she loved painting, sewing and baking. Miriam also enjoyed singing and spent several years in the local women's choir, The Musettes.



Miriam is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Russell Cook, and her daughter-in-law, Marilyn "Martie" Mitchell, as well as her 3 granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren and her brother Owen Bartholomew. She was preceded in death by her husband Mitch and her son Jack, as well as all but one of her 13 siblings.



The family wishes to thank Intermountain Home Care and hospice for their compassionate service, all the friends who helped with her care and Legacy Funerals for their service at this time.



A viewing will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at the LDS Mapleton 22nd Ward, 1068 South 1600 West, Mapleton, UT from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the LDS Mapleton 22nd Ward at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment will follow in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
