Merrie Adams

October 6, 1928 — October 14, 2013

Merrie Lucilla Stout Adams died October 14, 2013 of natural causes. She was 85 years old. Death occurred at the Alpine Valley Care Center in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She had been in Alzheimer's care and hospice there for several years and had previously lived in Pleasant Grove.

Merrie was born October 6, 1928 in Milford, Beaver County, Utah to Franklin Lyman Stout and Lucilla Martineau. She was the oldest of nine children. She attended the University of Utah. She talked a lot about her sweetheart, who predeceased her by some 26 years, how wonderful he was, and how much she loved him.

Merrie was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Rudger Irwin Adams (deceased) on October 20, 1950 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They are the parents of twelve children and survived by nine of them: Glorianne Muggli, Carol Gay Adams (deceased), Sherry Lee Bastian, Gregory Irwin Adams (deceased), Tamara Lynne Lyman (deceased), Jonathon Wayne Adams, Jeffery Scott Adams, Melanie Muranaka, Holly Christine Berube, Timothy Irwin Adams, Jason Reid Adams, and Jeremy Lyman Adams. She is also survived by her brothers Allen Stout and Mark Stout, and her sister Stephanie Vagasky. Merrie has over 45 (and growing) grandchildren and great grandchildren.
