Maurine Strout

Maurine Faun Cardon Strout, age 82, of Springville, UT and formally of Declo, ID was called home to that loving God who gave her life, Sept. 14, 2015 of natural causes. Maurine was a kind, vigorous and loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother.



She was born Nov. 29, 1932 in Oxford, ID to Julia and Lawrence Cardon. She graduated from Burley HS in 1950 and shortly after married Frank Gillette. They had 5 children and later divorced.



She received her B.S. at BYU in Education. She taught at various schools in Cassia County as well as a librarian at Granada HS in Livermore, CA.



Maurine met and married the love of her life, Robert E Strout in 1976. She joined him and his family of 5 children in Livermore, CA.



She is survived by her husband of 39 years Robert E Strout, her children: Marie Smith (Terry), Julie Johnson (Wayne), Carla Smith (Dell), Brent Gillette, and Lawrence Gillette (Roxanne) and Robert's children: Rob E Strout (Tammy), Cheryl Strout, Steve Strout, Wendy Walker (George), Sisters: Emma Payne, Netta Baun (Glenn), Florence West and sister in law Donna Cardon. She is preceded in death by stepdaughter Barbara Lowry, sister Betty Cook, brother Boyd Cardon, brother in laws: Clint Cook, Mitton Payne and Floyd West. She has 37 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.



Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Declo LDS 3rd Ward. Viewing will be held two hours prior to service at the church. Services will conclude with burial in the Gem Memorial Gardens, Burley, ID.
