On Monday June 25, 2018 our wonderful father, husband, brother and son, Manuel Blair Reyes returned to his Heavenly home after a valiant battle against cancer. He was faithful and trusted in Heavenly Father's plan for us till the end.
Blair was born on February 28, 1970 in Logan, Utah, but spent most of his childhood and youth in Evansville, Indiana. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Las Vegas and the Salt Lake Mission. After his mission he went to BYU and earned a bachelor degree in Computer Science. He married May Brit van de Weerd on August 18, 1993 in the Jordan River Temple, Utah and together they have 5 children.
Family was everything to Blair and he loved spending time with them and creating memories and showing them the ropes of computers. He especially loved to listen to his children singing, which they often did till midnight some days, blasting show tunes and singing together at the top of their lungs. It was never too loud or too much for him. He loved attending plays they were in and was in one himself, even serving on the board of Springville Playhouse. He also served at the Board at Merit Academy where the kids attended school.
He loved board games. Growing up his siblings did not want to play games with him because they claimed he always won. When his own children were old enough, he started playing with them. They often had games going for months keeping scores and putting ice creams on the line for whomever won.
He loved anything that had to do with computers and would continue to work with them at home in addition to work. For the last 5 years, he worked for Rimports and absolutely loved it, and the people he worked with. He was talented and could solve almost any computer problem. If he didn't know how, he would figure it out.
He loved genealogy (especially since he could do it on the computer) and worked tirelessly to find names for his own family in addition to helping others in the family history center.
Blair was truly genuine. Who people got to know, is who he was at home with us. Easy to talk to and love. Making new friends came easily to him. He wanted to help in any capacity he could - especially if it had to do with computers.
He leaves behind a loving wife, May Brit and 5 children that he adored. Zac Reyes, Jessica Reyes , Sabrina (Jonah) Young, Timothy Reyes and Andrew Reyes. He also leaves behind a loving grandmother and parents: Virginia Blair, Jorge and DeVere F. Reyes along with siblings: Dan Reyes, Ryan (Laurel) Reyes, Dana (Derek) Keller and Clayton (Christina) Reyes as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition he leaves behind his in-laws in Denmark who love him dearly.
