Our mother, wife, and beloved friend Malinda left this life peacefully on July 12, 2018 in Payson Utah, surrounded by family following a valiant battle against a final stroke. Malinda was a strong woman who courageously overcame many health issues that afflicted her throughout her life.
Malinda was born on September 3, 1959 in Salem Utah to her wonderful parents, Joyce and Junior Underwood. She has a half brother Eddie (Marie) Underwood and two half sisters Peggy Underwood and Kay Marie Forbes. Malinda was also blessed with 3 protective brothers: Mike (Ruth) Christensen, Steven (Sharon) Christensen, and Randy (Lisa) Christensen. She has Many nieces and nephews who made her her proud and she loved tremendously.
Malinda met her sweetheart Mike Wing while attending Spanish Fork High School. Mike and Malinda were fortunate enough to find soul mates and they married on February 22, 1979. She leaves behind her sweetheart, husband, and best friend of more than 39 years. They have been through thick and thin together, showing us all a great example of true love.
Malinda worked many jobs in Utah County where she met lifelong friends: Glades, Fritzies, Hickory Kist, Valtech, and Payson Market. Malinda was also a proud co-owner of a tattoo shop where for numerous years she showed a talent that came so naturally to her. She also enjoyed crafting, motorcycle rides with Mike, and making extra special cakes for her grandkids. She loved her puppies Harley and Evo. Malinda was always available to help anyone, shepherding many though hard times.
Malinda had an infectious laugh and she always made sure we all knew how much she loved us. It was a joyous reunion for her to be with her mother Joyce, brother Steven, in laws, and countless friends who preceded her in death. She missed them everyday and is now home with those she loves.
Her daughters Malissa (Justin) Shaw, and Mandy (Paul) Dayton will make sure everyday her five grandchildren know how much she loves them. We would like to thank her friends and family for being so wonderful to our mom, best friend, and wife. We would also like to thank the staff at the Mountain View Hospital ICU for the love and professionalism shown to our Mother during her last hours on earth.
We love you forever and ever, always and always Mom.
