Lowell Stephen Johnson

May 21, 1942- April 27, 2018

Lowell Stephen Johnson, at the age of 75, passed away surrounded by his wife and family, on April 27, 2018 in Provo, Utah.

Born May 21, 1942 in Scotia, CA, to Earl and Mildred Johnson, he was the youngest of three boys. He is survived by his eldest brother, Don and preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul.

Lowell had a mischievous streak in his spirit and loved to horse around with his older brothers Paul and Don, especially on Grandma and Grandpa Dunlap's farm in Covelo, CA. He was raised in Carmichael, CA and attended La Sierra High School where he loved sports and excelled at high school basketball.

It was during his junior year of high school that Lowell met Sharon, he said it was the best year because it's when he met the love of his life. Sharon truly is the love of his life and he treated her like a queen. Lowell did everything in his power to stay here to be with Sharon.

Lowell worked as a warehouse manager for Cal-Trans for nearly 40 years. He and Sharon moved to Springville, Utah in 2005 to enjoy their retirement. Lowell was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Lowell loved sports. He was a true competitor; he played basketball, volleyball and fast pitch softball. He could really mash the ball! He loved Duke basketball and everything BYU.

Lowell is survived by his wife Sharon, of 56 years. They were married and sealed together for time and all eternity in the Manti, Utah temple. He is also survived by his nine children; Wendy, Patty, Greg (Denise), Jeff (Shannon), Shannon (Thomas), Randy (Diana), Ashley (Travis), Katie, and Chris (Ginny). He was also blessed on this earth with 29 grandchildren.
