Leora Evans Davis, age 95, passed away on May 28, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Leora was born July 20, 1921 in Lake Shore, Utah, the third child of David and Jane Evans. She attended elementary school in Lake Shore and junior high and high school in Spanish Fork.
On November 26, 1941 Leora was sealed to her eternal sweetheart Sterling Davis in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had five children, Connie, Carol, Joy, Gay and Robert (Bob). They were also blessed with 21 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren
Leora loved to square dance and met Sterling at a dance hall in Salem. Leora and Sterling raised their family in Payson and then in 1978 moved to West Mountain, where there were many family gatherings and Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that would usually include a card game won by Leora. She lived for visits from her children and grandchildren and made sure that with each visit they left with a full belly. Leora worked at the Lake Shore Store before moving to Al's Market in Spanish Fork where she worked for 23 years. She also belonged to the Saddlets ladies riding club. For the past 14 years, Leora has attended the Senior Citizens in Payson where she made many friends.
Leora was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a faithful follower of her Savior. She magnified her callings as a member of the primary presidency, relief society presidency, a visiting teacher and she also worked with Sterling for many years in the Provo Temple.
Leora was preceded in death by her husband Sterling, both of her parents, her daughters Connie and Joy, her three siblings, her granddaughter Tia, a great-great granddaughter Holland, and her son-in-law Jim. She is survived by her children Carol Allred, Richfield, Gay (Mark) Pulham, West Mountain, and Bob (Rhonda) Davis, Ioka. 20 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Mountain 3rd Ward building, 902 West 400 North, Payson. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:45. Interment will be in Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East.
