Larry Jay Losee, who worked in the field of construction as an excavator and long time resident of Spanish Fork, Utah died unexpectedly on January 18th, 2022 at the age of 59 peacefully in his home.

Jay is survived by his son, Bo Losee; sister, Leslie Peterson; his mother, Ila Ray Doty; nephew, Michael Peterson; niece, Lacey Losee; nephew, Brady Losee; nephew, Tyler Breton; and his grandchildren who loved him. He is predeceased by his father, Larry D Losee; brother Jeff Losee; sister-in-law. Melinda Losee; nephew, J.D. Losee; and sister Lena Fyke.

Jay was born in Payson, Utah on December 19th, 1962. He graduated Landmark High in 1981 and entered into the field of construction. Anyone who knew Jay, knew that he held a strong work ethic and enjoyed staying busy. Though his health began to decline restricting him from travel, it never stopped him from watching every Cowboys game, which was a passion that he and his son enjoyed and followed through his life.

He loved getting visits from grandchildren, who loved to pop in to get hugs from Papa J and sneak treats. Jay was close with his mother, Ila, who would check in and visit him often. They were there for each other and were some of the most important people in each other's lives. Jay enjoyed going hunting and fishing, and was always ready to enjoy a night of camping with family and friends. He was always the life of the party, and anyone lucky enough to meet him always left with a great story to tell.

A small viewing for close family members will be held Friday, January 21st at 2:00 pm at Legacy Funerals to give last goodbyes. This summer we will hold a celebration of life to reminisce of memories of Jay and spread his ashes per his wishes. Location, date and time will be determined at a later date.
