Judyth Ingram

Judyth Joann Ingram entered this life November 26, 1940, in Clay Center, Kansas, and departed after a short illness July 28, 2020, at Elk Ridge, UT. In 1948 her parents, Sidney Warren Ingram and Cleo Lloydine Fear, moved from Kansas to Washington, DC, to an apartment near the White House. Judyth often returned to Kansas in summer to spend time on the farm with her much loved grandparents, William and Mable Ingram. As an only child, she loved roaming the streets of D.C., its monuments, museums, and parks, and went to junior high in Georgetown. When her parents moved across the Potomac to Arlington, VA, she attended prestigious Wakefield High School, and then in 1958, Madison College for women in the Shenandoah Valley, selected for its well reputed archery program, a sport at which she excelled.



She married after her first year in college, and her two children, Kimberly and David, became part of her life. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1974 when she was drawn to a Saturday broadcast of General Conference, and called for information. Then in 1975, her marriage ended. After the divorce, Judyth endured hard times as a single mother with two children, but persevered and worked her way up to a satisfying and successful career with the Department of Defense, working for the Navy, becoming country manager for sales with Italy. She traveled frequently with her unusual work. After early retirement, she worked for a small publishing firm until 2005, when her circumstances allowed a move to Payson, Utah, closer to her daughter, where she bought a home and became acquainted with her beloved neighbors, the Mendenhalls, who adopted her as Grandma Judyth.



A woman of refined and discriminating taste, Judyth loved fine art, literature and the beautiful things of this world including Persian rugs. Fascinated by oriental culture and philosophies, she adapted her own to combine what she thought were the best of two worlds. An excellent conversationalist, she had a gentle voice, a sharp wit, and a memorable chuckle. Everything she did, she did well, from archery to needlepoint. An avid reader, she also loved games, especially Scrabble. She was fond of animals, and delighted in the grace and beauty of the cats she owned. Judyth was loving and kind, a friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.



Judyth was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Cleo Ingram, daughter, Kimberly Wilcox, and granddaughter, Shannon Wilcox. Survivors include her son, David L. Draut and wife Sue, and children: Tiffany (Trevor) Vance, Ben (Brittney) Draut, Michael (Rachel) Draut, Mindy (Michael) Paris, Joseph Draut, Rebecca Draut, and Jared Draut; Kimberly's children: Chris (Terika) Moon, Nate(Kelly) Wilcox, Anthony Wilcox, John (Lisa) Wilcox, Stephanie (Justin) Hazel, Brian Wilcox; thirteen great grandchildren, and loving neighbors, Misty and Tim Mendenhall and James, Tayla, Kambree, Jenna, and Lily. Her ashes will be placed near her beloved "Papa Will."
