Jorma Johnson

March 18, 1932 — February 14, 2025

Jorma Brinkerhoff Pollmann Johnson passed away surrounded by family on February 14, 2025 at the Utah Valley Hospital. Jorma was born March 18, 1932 to Lloyd Brinkerhoff and Zella Maxfield.

Jorma married Donald Ray Pollmann on October 14,1947 and soon after began motherhood, raising the five boys she and Don had brought into this world together. Don passed away in 1971. In 1974, she square danced her way into the arms and charms of Ben Johnson, whom she married on December 6th of that same year. Ben’s two daughters and three sons were added to Jorma’s five to form a new family unit. Together with Ben, Jorma’s tireless commitment of love, time, and energy has brought them their most talked about joys and proudest moments, of which they brag passionately and without hesitation. In addition to her children, she focused on the success of the clothing store that she and Ben owned for over 12 years. She served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Huntington City Council, and was an active member of the Utah Travel Council.

Jorma also served faithfully in the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling rolls as a leader, teacher, and mentor. Her love for her savior Jesus Christ was most profoundly evidenced by the way she treated those around her. She had an unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. Those who knew her will remember her infectious smile, constant laughter, and her love and devotion to her kids and grandkids. She had such a wonderful gift of making others feel welcomed in her presence.

Jorma especially longed to be by her husband Ben’s side. She loved their adventures to the high Uinta mountains on horseback, lengthy road trips to visit children or gather supplies for the store, but mostly their annual escape from the cold to their beloved hideaway in Quartzsite, Arizona. No matter the challenge, the family member in need, or alluring prospect on the horizon, they tackled it together.

Jorma was welcomed home by her two great granddaughters Sarah Faith and Hanna Donn, her son Ray Dee Pollmann and his wife Annie, her sons Edward Lloyd Pollmann, and Dawayne Johnson, her first husband Donald Ray Pollmann, and her parents Lloyd Brinkerhoff and Zella Maxfield, as well as several sisters and brothers and their spouses.

She is survived by her husband Ben Johnson, her brother Dan Brinkerhoff, her sister Alta Wright, her children Steve (Shauna) Pollmann, Dave (Janie) Pollmann, Calene Johnson, Yolanda (Tim) Thompson, Olin Johnson, Troy Johnson, Alan (Roxanne) Pollmann, 34 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren with two on the way, and 23 great-great-grandchildren also with two on the way.

The celebration of Jorma’s life will be held Saturday February 22nd at 1:00 PM with a viewing from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM in Huntington, Utah at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Huntington 2nd Ward building on Main Street. Internment at Huntington Cemetery will follow the services.
