Joan Larsen

July 3, 1967 — September 13, 2019

Joan Fitzgerald Larsen, our precious daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and best friend, returned to her

Heavenly Father on September 13, 2019. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 3, 1967, to Warren and Jean

Fitzgerald. Joanie grew up in Lehi, Utah on 6 acres of land where she was taught the value of hard work, and to never be

idle. Her hands were always creating beautiful projects from crocheting table cloths and afghans to knitting dish rags.

Even while sitting around a campfire, she would be working on a project. She loved to sew and made her children the

most beautiful dresses and amazing Halloween costumes. She loved to camp, work in her yard, bottle fruits and

vegetables in the fall, and was a wonderful cook. She had an infectious smile, a huge heart and was kind, generous, and

determined. Her greatest talent was her ability to serve and care for others. She worked at numerous care centers and

loved working with the elderly. Her gentle, compassionate nature helped comfort those in this life, and to help many

others peacefully pass to the other side.

Joanie's greatest acts of service was to her own family. She loved her parents and siblings and was always there to offer

comfort or encouragement. She wanted to be the best wife, mother and grandmother possible, and she absolutely was.

Her life revolved around her family and she made sure that every child and grandchild knew they were important to her.

She was always present, enjoying the moment, and loved spending one on one time with each grandchild by taking

them on a special date and giving them equal time with her. Her love for her family ran deep and she never held back in

showing it.

Joanie met the love of her life, Steven H. Larsen, while attending High School. They were inseparable from the moment

Joanie's big brothers approved of their relationship. Joan and Steven were married March 22, 1985, and later sealed in

the Salt Lake Temple on September 12, 1992. They have 6 wonderful children: Amber (Shane) Howarth, Ashton (Thad)

Pay, Nicolette (Cole) Sperry, Steven Larsen, Haden Larsen, Morgan Larsen (Casey Weber), and 20 grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her parents Warren and Jean Fitzgerald and siblings Jill (PJ) Anderson; Hal (Judy) Fitzgerald; Jeff

(Erica) Fitzgerald; Anne (John) Allan; Beth (Lance) Weekley, and Amy (Donovan) Watchorn. She was preceded in death

by her grandparents, and mother-in-law.

Joanie, the life ahead without you seems unbearable. You were our angel on earth and now our angel in heaven. We are

comforted to know you are out of pain, feeling peace and wrapped in the arms of our Savior. We will miss you every

minute of every day until we are reunited again.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, September 20, 2019, at 3:00 pm. at the Nephi 7th ward chapel

located at 222 South 100 East in Nephi Utah. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-2:30 pm.
