James Robert Davis, 75, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on December 16, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Gary, Indiana on September 5, 1941. He was the second of five children and was preceded in death by his parents Robert Edward Davis and Dorothy June Bashaw, an older sister, Joan, and a daughter, Virginia.
After two previous marriages, he finally got it right and married the love of his life, Oma Mae Suntken on February 23, 1991. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He and his wife lived in California, Oregon and then Spanish Fork, Utah. He was employed by Geneva Steel and worked as a Mill Right and Machinist. Jim was a great inventor. If he couldn't find a part he needed, he would invent something to make it work. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed tinkering with wood and made wooden cars and other toys. He also enjoyed teaching others to make toys out of popsicle sticks.
Jim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Oma Mae Suntken, the other love of his life, his dog Misty; Children: James, Jeff (Teresa), June (Ed) Leato, Rhonda, Jamie (Katie), Robin, Mary (Dale) Shelton, Rebecca, Michael and seven step-children; Siblings: Beverly (Dan) McKee, Peggy (Kent) Shepherd, Nancy (Chuck) Pilkington and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at the Legacy Mortuary in Spanish Fork, Utah (3595 N. Main St., Spanish Fork, Utah) on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Santaquin Cemetery in Santaquin, Utah on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
