Howard Douglas Pearson 1957 ~ 2024

Doug Pearson was born on July 16, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and died September 12, 2024, in Provo, Utah. He was the third child and eldest son of seven children born to Howard J. and Cheryl Gardener Pearson of Spanish Fork, Utah. Doug married Anna Flygare of Salem on December 16, 1978, in the Provo Temple. He is survived by his eternal wife and two of their three children: Michael Douglas (Ramona Laris) Pearson, Geoffrey Clive (Paige Wyatt) Pearson. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and one son Tyler Pearson. He is survived by 6 grandchildren.

Doug graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1975. Doug served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints from 1976 to 1979 in the Australian Brisbane mission. After returning from his mission, he married Anna Flygare and started going to school part time at Brigham Young University while working as a dairy farmer. Doug graduated with a Bachelor’s degree 1987.

After graduation, Doug obtained an inspector position with the Utah Department of Agriculture in Salt Lake City, Utah. While at the Department of Agriculture Doug had the opportunity to work cases with numerous local and state law enforcement agencies as well as the FBI. Doug was a very accomplished individual and at one time directed the Egg and Poultry program before he retired. During this time he was able to become certified in a number of skills and earned his Certified Public Manager designation in 1997.

Doug has always been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served in many positions in the Church, including High Council in the Salem Utah Stake and Second Counselor in the Salem 7th Ward. While serving in the church working with the youth was by far his favorite callings, He served in the young men's organization and Boy Scouts for many years. Beyond the joy of touching many young men and women's lives, he was awarded the Silver Beaver award which is the highest honor a local council can give to a volunteer leader. Outside of work and church you could always find Doug doing service for anyone he could.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all friends and family for their love and support at this time.
