Howard "Brent" Wilson

Howard “Brent” Wilson of Orem, Utah, passed away at his home Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, at the age of 69. Brent was born in Provo, Utah, on April 26, 1955. He was the third of four boys born to LeNoy D. Wilson and Joy Maurine Hatfield.

Brent grew up in Springville, Utah, with his parents and brothers. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and riding ATVs. Brent attended Springville High School, where he was a member of the wrestling team, and graduated in 1973.

After graduation, Brent worked various jobs while attending business school, eventually accepting a position in sales at Hatfield Fire Sprinklers. He worked there for over 20 years, building lasting relationships and earning a reputation for his reliability and dedication. Later in his career, he transitioned to a management position in retail with the State of Utah, where he worked for about 15 years until retiring in 2019.

Brent married Colleen King in October 1977 in Spanish Fork, Utah. They spent several years living throughout Utah county before settling in Payson to raise their three children. Though they later divorced, Brent and Colleen remained committed to working together in the best interest of their family. Brent was a dedicated father who always made time for his children and grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.

Brent had a quick wit and calming presence that drew people to him and led to many lasting friendships. He loved to cook and was always eager to share a good meal. His passion for the outdoors continued throughout his life, and he found joy in camping, hiking, and spending time in nature. Brent was also an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed football and organizing fantasy leagues.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents, LeNoy and Joy Wilson, and his brother Dennis. He is survived by his three children: Jesse (Mandy), Amber (Kreston), Garrett; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brothers Lynn and Darrin (Nancy).

A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Legacy Funerals in Spanish Fork, followed by interment at Springville Evergreen Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
