Elisabeth Schneider Breese, of Salem, Utah, died on June 3, 2024 at her home of natural causes. She was 100 years young. She was born to Karl Wilhelm Schneider and Katharina Betz on October 7, 1923, in Frankfurt, Germany. She married Sidney A. Breese on May 3, 1955, and came to the United States where she earned her US citizenship. They later divorced and she moved with her four children to Provo, Utah.
She was soon hired by Brigham Young University and worked at the BYU Bookstore in the Accounts Receivable Department. She was there for 20 years and concluded her employment as the manager of that department. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held several callings within the church and always engaged in serving others. Growing up in Germany during a time of war, cultivated within her an awareness of the needs of others. It was important to her to take meals to family, friends and neighbors. Some of her hobbies and interests were gardening, cooking, playing games, puzzles, reading, and knitting.
She is preceded in death by her parents and an older brother, Franz Wilhelm Schneider. She is survived by her four children; Sidney Alan Breese (Gail) of American Fork, UT; Lana Elizabeth Welsh (Terry) of Salem, UT; Tammy Ann Williams of Spanish Fork, UT and Bonnie Gail Bowden (Mark) of Orem, UT; 16 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be performed at East Lawn Memorial in Provo, Utah. Date and time to be announced.
