Dorothy Huntington

January 3, 1935 — June 22, 2014

Dorothy Jean Huntington Wright, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, born on January 3, 1935, passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2014 after an injury found her in need of the care of a skilled nursing home during the last three years of her life.



She will be deeply missed by her husband Raymond C. Wright, and her children, Diane Patelli, Stephen Huntington, Carol Meinzer and Sandra Huntington. She leaves behind, four sisters, Nadine, Sharon, Pat, and Grace and her brother Harold. She leaves a legacy of 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.



Dorothy was preceded in death by the husband of her children, Robert Glen Huntington, her daughter Ruth Ann Huntington, her son Robert Wayne Huntington. Also preceeding her was her father, George B. Stephens, her mother Edna, her sisters, Geraldine and Lenore and her brothers, Billy and Lamar.



Dorothy was number four of ten children in the blended family of George B. Stephens and Ruth Stephens. She attended South Emery High School in Ferron, UT and married Robert G. Huntington in 1952.



After raising her children in California, Dorothy eventually settled in Roy, Utah where she went back to school and received her certification as a Certified Nurse's Assistant, and spent seven years caring for the elderly in their homes. Dorothy held many church callings over the years and loved the gospel.



She met and married her current husband Raymond C. Wright in 2001. Ray was her best friend and they spent their time together traveling, reading, watching movies, and just living life.



Dorothy loved riding horses, dancing, reading, crocheting, Elvis, eating jello with cool whip and watching old movies (Especially Chuck Norris). She loved a good joke and was known for her dry wit and one liners.



Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27th, 2014 at 11a.m. in the LDS Lakeview Ward, 2000 W 4900 S, Roy, UT. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 6-8p.m. in the same building.
