Donna Jean Lee Jex, 78, passed away May 2, 2016 from congestive heart failure. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was born August 4, 1937 to Donald and Emma Lee in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest of 5 children. At age 8 her family moved from Salt Lake to Springville, Utah where she grew up and graduated high school. She was a cheerleader and had many Springville friendships through the years.
She graduated from BYU with a degree in Business and a minor in Interior Design.
She married Reed A. Jex on June 23, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised 5 children. They ran Jex Lumber Company for 20 years and were active in the Chamber of Commerce and many civic duties. She was a Contest Chairman for Miss Spanish Fork, campaign committee member for Mayor of Spanish Fork, Co-chairman for Utah County Fair, and PTA President for Spanish Fork High.
She was a devoted member of the LDS church serving in Young Women, Primary and Relief Society presidencies. Her most recent service was in the Payson Utah Temple.
She spent many long rowdy evenings once a month with her "club" friends. They have met for several decades forming special friendships that will go on in the eternities!
She loved traveling to Panacea, Nevada where as a young girl she spent many summers visiting her grandparents, learning how to prospect for gold and swimming in the big ditch. She enjoyed a good yard sale and finding a fun new place to shop. She loved bringing her kids and grandkids pine nuts and treats.
She had many hobbies like decorating, gardening, sewing, and reading. She loved being on the go and finding a new adventure.
Her laugh was contagious! She will be remembered by her grandchildren as the spontaneous fun loving "Grandma Donna."
She enjoyed the past 20 years living in Salem, Utah where she had many cherished friendships.

She is survived by her children Brady (Anne) Jex, Brent Jex, Randall Jex, Marcie (Brett) Bardsley and Cindy (Blake) Rudd; brothers Gary, Leon, Dale and Kenny Lee; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Funeral services and viewing will be held at the Salem Stake Center - 470 East Salem Canal Road, Salem, Utah - Friends may call Friday May 6, from 6-8 pm and Saturday May 7 from 11:45-12:45 p.m. prior to service.
