Dianthe Louise Nuckles recently graduated mortality after celebrating her 80th birthday. She passed away in the ICU of Mountain View Hospital in Payson, UT on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Dianthe was born in Bridgeport, CT on September 29, 1936 to Fernand Joseph Romeo Bellerose and Aida Hazel Smith. She had one sister, Eleanor Madeline Connor and a brother, Robert DuWayne Sanborn. She attended high school in Canton, CT and graduated Baypath Junior College in Longmeadow, MA.
She then married her high school sweetheart, Peter Alvah Hamm and had three children, Phillip Lord, Melissa Smith and Jennifer Jean Hamm.
Dianthe moved to California in 1970 and married her eternal companion, David Wesley Nuckles in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on June 17, 1971. The Nuckles children from that union were Julie Diane Maness (Spouse Howard Maness), David Paul (Spouse Rebecca), Rachel Michelle Ortega and Kristie Belinda Hall (Spouse Robert Hall).
Grammie was loved and admired by many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and ward members alike.
Some of Dianthe's beloved talents were sewing, needlework, crocheting and painting. She taught as a substitute teacher in the public school system for 7+ years. She was a skilled homemaker and she loved animals, antiques and stray children from everywhere. Dianthe's eastern upbringing and finishing school background helped define her innate sense involving formal settings and she had a great appreciation for antiques, fine music, decorating for holiday - especially Christmas, and formal dining experiences.
The Memorial Service was held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Payson Utah Stake Center at 650 West 800 South, Payson, UT. Interment was at the Payson City Cemetery. Our loss is heaven's gain.
