Deborah Sue Kerby

March 7, 1954 — November 18, 2024

On Monday, November 18, 2024 our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend Deborah Sue Kerby passed away at her home surrounded by her family after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Debbie was born on March 7, 1954 in Payson, Utah to Shirley Elden Schwartz and Barbara Lilian Tovell Schwartz. Debbie was raised by her wonderful grandmother Ada Schwartz. Debbie was the youngest of three beautiful daughters. The late Victoria Lynn Spencer and Melanie Ann Miller. Debbie married her high school sweetheart Blair Kerby on July 23, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Together they had four daughters Shantelle, Denise, Jessica, and Ashley.

Throughout her life Debbie had many talents that include... cheerleading for the Payson Lions, teaching dance to hundreds of girls, aerobics instructing, quilting, crocheting, dancing for Jeans Golden Girls, and gardening. Debbie loved her yard and mowing her lawn. Sometimes she would venture over to the neighbors yard because she loved it so much.

Debbie valued the gospel and served in many callings within the LDS church. Which includes primary, young women's, and helping members of the ward.

Family was her greatest treasure. Debbie loved being a mom to her four girls. Our mom was our biggest cheerleader, never missing out on cheering us on at any event. As a grandma she made every grandchild feel like they were her favorite and was always looking for opportunities to get the family together.

Our home growing up was always known as the hangout spot. Mom made everyone feel welcome and was always trying to feed everyone.

We will all miss her beautiful smile, and contagious laugh. She was always laughing, dancing, and the life of the party.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Blair Kerby. Her sister Melanie (Glen) Miller. Her four daughters Shantelle (Phil) Coombs, Denise Kerby, Jessica (Cole) Warnick, and Ashley (Josey) Dewsnup. Her ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Barbara and Shirley Schwartz. Her grandmother Ada Schwartz. And her sister Victoria Lynn Spencer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30th 11am at the Payson 19th ward LDS chapel located at 482 west 1400 south. Payson, Utah (East church). Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6-8pm at the 19th ward LDS chapel and on Saturday morning from 9-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Salem City cemetery following the funeral.
