David Owen

December 11, 1957 — January 5, 2020

David Charles Owen, age 62, passed away January 5, 2020 at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Utah from cardiac arrest. He was born December 11, 1957 in Ogden, Utah, the son of David James and Lou Jean Henderson Owen.



David went to elementary school in Rowland Heights, California and attended middle school and graduated from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where his parents resided. He also received General Business Certification from Purdue University where he was awarded Academic Excellence. He also participated in the Horticulture program at the Westville Educational Center and State Board of Vocational Technical Education.



David enjoyed hiking and camping. He also loved motorcycles and trucks, of which he had many throughout his life. He participated in the Martial Arts and was a Black Belt in Karate.



David worked several years as a pressman in the printing industry and was most recently the service manager at Take A Break Spas and Billiards in Springville, Utah, where most knew him as Owen. The owner of Take A Break, Dave Johnson, said of 'Owen': "He will be greatly missed and leaves a huge hole in our hearts. He traveled the state helping our customers with their spas. We know he touched many lives. He represented Take A Break in a kind, patient, caring manner."



David's patience and caring mannerisms were demonstrated with his father's care at Hearthstone Manner during the last two years of his father's life. He visited his father in the assisted living facility almost on a daily basis and provided for his medical and physical needs. He also attended church and other activities on a regular basis with his father there.



David is survived by his three siblings: Sister, Sherri (Steve) Chandler; Brother, Dennis (Elaine) Owen; Brother, Douglas (Karma) Owen, and 33 nieces and nephews. David was never married and had no children. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Lou Jean Owen, two nephews, Matthew James Owen, Gavin Michael Owen, and one niece, Millie Eden Owen.



A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Spanish Fork 5th Ward, located at 1006 East, 200 South, Spanish Fork, Utah.
