David James Owen, 90, passed away September 9, 2019, at Hearthstone Manor in Spanish Fork, Utah. He was born on May 5, 1929, in Layton Utah; son of Caroline Edith and Royal Clifford Owen. He married Lou Jean Henderson in the Mesa LDS Temple on December 20, 1948.
David was a graduate of Davis High School; he served in the US Navy as an I.C. Electrician Fireman Apprentice and honorably discharged in 1950. He worked as Process Engineer building automated machinery. He was a skilled craftsman in any endeavor he pursued. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and participated in many church and community choirs. He was a compassionate and devoted caregiver of his mother-in-law and wife during the last two decades of his life.
He is survived by his four children: daughter, Sherri (Steve) Chandler; son, Dennis (Elaine) Owen; son, Douglas (Karma) Owen; son, David C. Owen; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Jean; one grandchild, Matthew James Owen, and two great-grandchildren, Millie Eden and Gavin Michael Owen.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 21st, at 1:00 p.m. in the Logan Cemetery, located at 1000 North 1200 East, Logan, Utah.
