Darryl Thomas Roberts
January 12, 1964 to July 29, 2014
Darryl Thomas Roberts passed away in Salem, Utah due to injuries from an automobile accident on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was 50 years old.
Darryl was born in Lynwood, California at St. Francis Hospital. He graduated from Warren High School in Downey, California in 1982. Darryl served in the United States Air Force from 1986 to 1991 and was stationed in Minot, North Dakota and Denver, Colorado. He was married to Cindy Reeves from 1986 to 2001 and had three daughters. During the last 15 years, Darryl lived in Nevada, Colorado, and in March of 2014 moved to Utah. There, he reunited with childhood friend, Linda (Cuny) Drake. They were engaged to be married.
Darryl had a strong work ethic and started working at a young age. Most recently he worked as a paralegal at Progrexion in Provo. In the past he worked in sales, as a CNA caring for developmentally disabled adults, and as a minister for a non-denominational church.
Darryl had a passion for music and was a talented song-writer and performer. He was a poet and a romantic. He was the founder of "Geeks of the World Unite," a Facebook-based collection of a over dozen groups and pages, covering multiple fandoms with over 50,000 members. He was a kind and loving man, and was always there to help a friend.
He is survived by his daughters Darrylann "Annie" Roberts, Sara Roberts, and Kathryn "Kate" Roberts, his fiancee Linda (Cuny) Drake, parents Janet and Vernon Roberts, and siblings Robert Roberts and Linda Ann Roberts.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7th at 6 p.m. at the LDS Church, 2801 West 620 North, in Provo Utah.
