Lindon, UT – Arita (Penfield) Evans, 90, died 23 May 2023 after several strokes.
Born 5 August 1932 to Verdon Elwood Penfield and Vera Inez Kinslow in Roosevelt, UT. Married to Melvin J Evans in Roosevelt, UT on 27 July 1952.
She served in numerous church callings while living in New Jersey (Short Hills Ward, Eatontown Ward and Freehold Ward) and after retirement in Leeds, UT and in Nashville, TN.
She served in the Wellington, New Zealand Mission with her husband 1999 to 2000. And they taught English for one year in JaDing, China in 1992-1993.
Arita is survived by her sister Genevie Pierson of Roosevelt, UT and by her brother James Penfield of Neola, UT. Also survived by all her children, son Steven of Herriman, UT; daughter Alyn of Brooklyn, NY; daughter Tracey of Saratoga Springs, UT; daughter Leslie Hammond of Austin, TX and 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, June 3rd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 267 W Weatherby Dr, Saratoga Springs, UT.
