Angela Nicole Petersen, (Angie), age 39, of Cedar Hills, passed away on February 1, 2014 at her home in Cedar Hills.
Angie was born to Charles Gerold Petersen and Carole Claudine Hansen Petersen in Portland, Oregon on May 28, 1974.
She lived in Portland, Oregon briefly until the family moved to Provo, UT in 1976 where she attended Edgemont Elementary School, Farrer Jr. High School and Timpview High School. Angie attended UVU and was a 4.0 student being on the Dean's List and listed in Who's Who in American Colleges. Her aims were always to excel in what ever she did. She graduated from Stevens Heneger College in Medical Assisting and worked for several years as an assistant to Dr. David Hafen of American Fork UT.
During her married life Angie lived in Charlotte, NC, Foothill Ranch and Orange County CA. In May of 1997Angie married Preston Minor in the San Diego Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On November 22, 2000, she gave birth to their son Truman Wayne Minor while living in Charlotte, NC. Truman was Angie's greatest gift in life and she loved him dearly. She loved him dearly. She later married George Szkiba and they were wed for three years. During this last year Angie has lived in Cedar Hills with her mother and in Costa Mesa, CA with friends.
She is survived by her mother, Carole Ferguson, and all of her siblings and their spouses. Susan Petersen Byers and her husband, Doug; Charles Scott Petersen and his wife, Anna; Chris Petersen and his wife Joanie; Sandra Petersen Johnson; and Kristen Petersen Ituma and her husband Alex; and many nieces and nephews.
All those who were friends to Angie recognized her for her great sense of humor. She was quick to pick up on a conversation and add witty comments. People around her most often enjoyed her presence because she was animated and delightful. Angie had a gift for music and loved to play her guitar. Her life was a blessing to all of us for leaving a great many enduring, light-hearted memories we will treasure.
Angie's funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 11 AM in the LDS Chapel at 9737 Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, UT. Viewing prior to services at 10:00 AM.
