Obituary of Alberta M. Metzger
Alberta Marie Metzger, 96, of Springville, Utah, passed away on December 12, 2019, at the Stonehenge--A Place of Healing in Springville, Utah.
She was born May 6, 1923, in Williston, North Dakota, the oldest of nine children to Alfred Victor Larsen and Luna May Gaines. At the age of two, she moved with her parents and her sister, Mavis, to St. Paul, Minnesota, where she grew up, met her husband, George J. Metzger, and raised their two sons in West St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2000, she moved to Utah to be closer to her sons.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her two sons, Gary J. (Prydwen) Metzger of Springville, Utah, and David G. Metzger (Cody R. Taylor) of Rigby, Idaho; sisters Judy R. (Art) Rahn of San Diego, California, and June M. Larsen of St. Paul, Minnesota, and a brother, Lloyd M. (Pat) Larsen of Santa Ana, California, 12 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four step- grandchildren and 16 step- great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five siblings--four sisters: Mavis Butts, Alfreda Canter, Victoria Becker, and Joy Larsen (stillborn), and one brother, Orville V. Larsen, and a daughter-in-law, Susan C. Metzger.
