Alan Rue Allred was born June 5, 1951 to Charles Rue and Susie Prior Allred in Spanish Fork, Utah and passed away peacefully October 3, 2024 in his home.
Alan was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. Alan’s first love was Julie Kay Lombardi, his wife of 53 years, and also his high school sweetheart. His next love was his children, three beautiful daughters, Kristin, Heather and Malinda, who he adored from the day they were born. Alan’s next love was golfing, he spent a lot of time on the golf course with his good friends. After health problems prevented him from golfing, he relished his time being a marshall at The Oaks Golf Course, especially when he was joined by his granddaughter, Kennady. Alan also enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends and family in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Alan graduated from Spanish Fork High School, class of 1969. He was employed by Geneva Steel for nearly 3 decades and after Geneva closed, he went to work at the Utah State Hospital in the maintenance department for 13 years, after which he retired.
Alan was a close friend to many, his friendship never wavered and he cherished each and every friendship. He had a lot of good memories and loved to reminisce with others. Alan was also an avid gardener and took great pride and pleasure in his harvest and loved to share it every year. Being a grandfather was one of Alan’s greatest joys, he truly loved them all and they were always a bright spot, even in his most difficult days. Alan had many hobbies and interests and he kept himself busy in his retirement years. Each day, he would write entries into his journal and he also took enjoyment in painting and beautifying his home.
Alan is survived by his loving wife Julie, daughters Kristin, Heather, and Malinda (Dustin) and his dog Moe. He is also survived by grandchildren Zack (Cheyanne), Amanda (Kolton), Riley (Maddy), Mikayla (Brenden), and Kennady. Great Grand children Harleigh, Jace, Haizley, Axyle, and Elsie.
Alan was welcomed to Heaven by his parents, brothers Charles Gordon, John Brent, his grandparents and his granddog Opie and too many friends and family to mention. A reunion that Alan was excited to have and looking forward to.
