Obituary for Christopher Whittaker

Christopher Whittaker
Our beloved husband, father, son, and brother. Christopher Jon Whittaker left his earthly mortal journey unexpectedly, on the morning of October 17, 2017, at the age of 48. He was born in Portland, Oregon on July 23, 1969, to Alan C. and Karron Jackson Whittaker.

Chris spent his childhood in the Portland and Parkrose area of Oregon. He was a joy to his family as the youngest of the Whittaker household. He excelled at sports, enjoyed camping, and exploring the beauty of the northwest with family and friends. He later move from Oregon to Utah in his teenage years, and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1988.

Chris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served an honorable mission to Cincinnati, Ohio, where lasting friendships were made and cherished throughout his life. His testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was precious to him. He constantly shared his testimony without hesitation through genuine love and service. In fact, Chris served over 12 years in the scouting program. He settled in the Fairfield area of Ohio after his mission and started his family there as he developed his skills as a machinist. His children; Wesley, Michael, and Jessica were his treasures. From coaching to cuddling, he was their champion confidant and exemplar.

Chris and his children moved to Utah in 2005, and there met his best friend and eternal companion, Jennifer Faye Hall, and were married in the Timpanogos Temple on January 27, 2006. They made their home in Spanish Fork, Utah. Chris worked at Klune Industries and developed a home business called Alloy Wheel Specialists. His passion was refinishing and restoring cars with his sons and brother, Kay C. Chris spent many happy times going on family trips, performing temple work, and being with those he loved.

Chris is preceded in death by his father Alan C. Whittaker and oldest brother, Michael. He leaves behind his beloved wife Jennifer and children; Wesley (22), Michael (20, currently serving a mission in Gilbert, AZ), and Jessica (15). His family members include parents: Alan and Karron Whittaker, and siblings Gayle Whittaker, Michael (Kim) Whittaker, Cindi (Sterling) Sainsbury, Kay C (Heidi) Whittaker, Wendy (Tom) Harris, and William (Celia) Whittaker. Jennifer Hall family includes her parents: Allen and Faye Hall, and siblings Michael (Carmen) Hall, Shauna (John) Lewis, Christina Hall Stewart, and Michelle (Jesse) Hafen, along with many nieces and nephews who loved Chris dearly.

The viewing will be held at the LDS chapel on Sunday, October 22, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 – 8:00pm. The chapel is located at 1661 S. 1400 E. in Spanish Fork, UT. The funeral will be held at the same location on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00am. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00am prior to the funeral service.
